New Assignment Notice!
I have been thinking again about what students take away with them on completion of this course. Our goal is for everyone enrolled in Career Technical Education classes to have a web presence that will be helpful for future job placement. We have used googlepages. com for this until it no longer was available and free to use. This year I found that Google is now offering similar web resources that are now called sites.google.com . This site is to include specific information with links to different CTE classes the student has taken. Our blog done in Imaging Technology is the area where one can demonstrate skills learned and interests developed. I'll link only exceptional blogs to my own at rchsimage.blogspot.com
With all portfolio work being electronic, I am adding paper mini portfolio assignments this year. Students are asked to develop a theme with at least 3 images and displayed as professionally as we can get. So far we have used a nice certificate folder to hold 4'x6' images printed on a Cannon inkjet printer and hp gloss photo paper. To mount the images we use an X-acto knife to cut a diagonal slit where the edge of the picture goes behind.
For our first mini portfolio, students are assigned to use the Photo Shop technique of selective color. Perhaps I can take some screen shots to later describe this simple technique. Colbie worked on this in class today.
