They were migrant pea pickers that just learned a cold span will not provide work. the day before the father sold the tires off the only car to buy food for the family. On learning this, the mother must be wondering where the next meal is coming from. This 1932 photograph spurred the government to send food and supplies to the many migrant farmers in California and help stem the poverty families textured. Photographs can change the world it seems.
